About the event
Educator John Meader from Northern Stars Planetarium will be visiting the Hub with his mobile planetarium to teach the children all about the our wonderful sky. His presentation is geared for elementary aged students, but older students may enjoy the lesson as well!
Due to the limited space in the domes, there will be three sessions of the class, 10, 11:15, & 12:30. The sessions are about 1 hour long. Mr. Meader has expressed the need for quiet in the nursery/vestry area during his presentations, so if you arrive early for your session, please use quiet indoor voices while you wait.
Because of dome size, the Hub Team and Hub Helpers will escort the students in the dome, while parents may enjoy a social hour & coffee in the parent lounge. Mr. Meader does not recommend children under the age of 3 in the dome. All students 4 and 5 must be accompanied by their parent or a responsible older sibling in the dome. Please be sure to add a ticket for yourself if you are entering the dome with your child.
If for some reason your child needs to leave the dome during the presentation, they will be escorted out through the tunnel by one of the Hub Team members and brought to their guardian. Because of the nature of the presentation, students who leave the dome will not have a chance to re-enter. So, we recommend using the bathrooms and getting sips of water before going in.
The shows will begin promptly at their start time. Please plan to arrive on time! We only have a small window of time before each show for students to enter the dome with the fan is running.
